Valley Green in Autumn
Looking toward the graceful stone arch bridge just beyond the Valley Green Inn (which would be just on the left). Built in 1832 and rebuilt in 1915, the bridge is exemplary of the craftsmanship of past days when bridges like this were built to last for centuries and even beyond.
This bridge is at the bottom of and also known as the 'Springfield Avenue' bridge leading from Germantown Avenue down the steep and narrow road from Chestnut Hill to the Wissahickon Creek and Valley Green.
